Not just another hotel lobby

We've transformed an old commercial lot into our oasis of tiny dreams.  Currently, we have seven tiny houses that are snuggled together around a central guest hang-out space. As we continue to grow, we will be expanding to the lot next door with the 100-year-old duplex home on it. The main house will have an ADA unit and the backyard will include two more tiny houses. We will continue to bring more amenities to Tiny Digs for the guests to use as we grow. Keep checking back for new, exciting additions and events.

Chairs, couches, tables, two fire pits, art, and games along with new greenery and twinkle lights have turned the vacant lot into an outdoor lounge.

With a number of small locally owned restaurants, shops, and breweries within a 10-minute walk, our neighborhood will keep you well-fed and entertained.  Muskegon Lake is across the street with boat launches and a premier bike trail. We are also less than 5 minutes from beautiful Lake Michigan beaches and sunsets. Go east 4 blocks to the cross-lake ferry and continue another 4 minutes to downtown historic Muskegon with its fabulous farmers market and a plethora of eateries, breweries, and shopping.

Meet the Westra Family

Pam was a masters-educated special education teacher before transitioning to Executive Director of Westra Wellness Center in Spring Lake, Michigan, which she owned with her husband, Bruce.  After many successful years of practice, Bruce retired from his role as a Doctor of Chiropractic. After selling the practice, they traveled the country in their RV and eventually landed in Portland, Oregon to be near their adult children, with hearts set on chasing their passion for tiny houses and being creative.

Together, Pam, Bruce, and their son, Kevin created Tiny Digs Hotel, Portland, Oregon, which opened in 2016 after a year of building their first 6 tiny homes. Kevin had been living in the Pacific Northwest chasing many creative passions which include glass blower, bowyer at a survival school, knife maker, and carpenter. During their stay in Portland, the hotel expanded to 12 creative and fun-themed tiny houses which they manage from afar here in Michigan. During their time in Oregon, the family expanded with welcoming arms to include Stacey, Kevin’s very creative wife. She has a flair for decorating, photography, jewelry making, and even silversmithing. Stacey is also the wonderful mother of their toddler, Wyatt. He is the star of the family these days and will be as creative as the rest as he’s already expressed.

The family loves to create and each has their special talents to make the team a success. Pam is a visionary designer and business manager extraordinaire. Bruce and Kevin are the skillful builders with an eye for precision, craftsmanship, and creativity. They make an excellent team and have hand-crafted every house from the ground up with special attention to every detail. Stacey has had a hand in some of the design work and decorating for the new Tiny Digs Lakeshore and is our social media/photography specialist.

Our other passion besides making creative places to stay is to host special people like you. We wanted to continue to meet individuals from around the globe like the ones who hosted us during our travels. What better way to do this than to become a host ourselves and return the good service, friendships, and kindness expressed to us in our travels! We hope you find Tiny Digs Lakeshore, Muskegon, Michigan, or Tiny Digs Hotel Portland, Oregon your tiny house home away from home. Happy travels!
